Abstract
A planar CPW-fed ultra wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with triple band notch characteristics is presented in this paper. A combination of Moore curve and Euclidean curve to create a hybrid fractal slot that is etched out from the radiator results in creating band notches centered at 5.5GHz and 8.1GHz. The band notch centered at 6.8GHz is obtained by Moore fractal slots etched from the ground planes. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna covers frequency range from 2.8GHz to 12 GHz. The simulated peak gain is 4 dBi. The group delay profile is almost linear within the passband. Stable radiation patterns are observed within the operating range.
