Abstract :
We are concerned with the performance of MIMO-OFDM receiver operating in a doubly selective fading channel (also called time-varying multipath fading channel). Both linear and nonlinear detection schemes are considered. In particular, frequency-domain oversampling (FDO) is employed at the receiver to take advantage of the channel diversity inherent to multipath fading channels. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with its conventional counterpart without using FDO, the FDO based receiver can offer significantly better error performance for linear as well as non-linear detection and various MIMO configurations (single or multiple antennas) under different channel conditions (quasi-static or time-varying multipath fading).
