Abstract :
The interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is widely used in the modern electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid EV. The direct torque control (DTC) for PMSM possesses many advantages and is an ideal control strategy for EV. In nature the DTC is the hysteresis control and the hysteresis control principle determines the system performance. In this paper, the control principle of the amplitude of stator flux, torque angle and torque are studied and simplified and easy equations are proposed. Based on the control of stator flux, torque angle and torque, voltage vector selection area of the DTC for IPMSM is given.
