Abstract :
The goal of this project is to develop tissue engineered skin substitutes with thin collagen membranes that mimic the basal lamina in native skin and promote keratinocyte attachment, migration, and proliferation. To achieve this goal we will conjugate basal lamina components to a membrane and we will characterize the relationship between extracellular matrix composition of basal lamina analogs and keratinocyte function.
