Abstract :
Driven by mobile communication and sensor applications a continuous progress in planar mixer technology could be observed during the last few years. Starting with a summary of fundamental mixing theory, the most interesting planar circuit concepts will be shown. Nonlinear semiconductor devices and their models will be reviewed. The practical design process and some experience with nonlinear analysis will be discussed. Recent results from state of the art mixing circuits will be introduced.
