Abstract :
Based on investigation of the influencing factors in the Middle Yellow River, this paper prospected the future trend of water and sediment variation in the Middle Yellow River. The results showed that the relationship between water an sediment in the middle Yellow River could not be improved in short term. Therefore, the areas where the water and sediment loss had been controlled needed to be maintained and further treated, and the untreated areas were harder to control. New soil and water loss was constantly emerging, and the investment requirement in management was increasingly great. Each kind of measure had its own limitation, all measures must be well done if we want to control soil and water loss. Under the interaction of natural and artificial factors, water and sediment variation trend in the Middle Yellow River is becoming increasingly “polarized”. That is to say, “low” and “abundant” would be respectively enhanced.
