  • Abstract
Qinghai-Tibet railway is one of the important projects in China now, which effects the construction and development of the west of China. Qinghai-Tibet railway passes through the perennial frozen sediment soil area of Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. This area has its particular geography circumstance, which has huge influence on design and realization of grounding systems. Now neither China nor other foreign countries has such research or engineering experiences. In this paper the form of frozen sediment soil and the distribution of frozen soil upper limit of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau are introduced. On the basic of aforementioned, the grounding systems in the perennial frozen sediment soil area of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau are analyzed. Some available methods to reduce grounding resistance are recommended.
