Abstract
Acute normovolemic hemodilution (ANH) has been proposed as a safe and cost-effective replacement for traditional blood transfusion techniques in hemorrhaging during surgery. Its practice is underutilized because its efficiency is unknown. Here, we present a mathematical modeling approach to determine the efficacy of ANH.
