  • Abstract
In this paper, the authors present the analysis by Finite Element Method software packages of optimization of a permanent magnet synchronous motor with low speed, used to drive a bicycle. Advanced licensed software CAD/CAM/CAE were used for modelling and simulation of electromagnetic field, ANSYS Electromagnetics Low Frequency (Maxwell 2D/3D, RMxprt) - products of ANSYS Inc. There are presented some results and conclusions regarding functional-constructive optimization study of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors by a single variable such as the slots number of the stator, being part from the constructive variables.
