Abstract :
Stone dike terrace which is marked by its functions of dispersing slope runoff, changing continuous slope into discontinuous slope, reducing slope length, conserving water and soil, preventing flood and improving water conservation and drought resistance of crops, has been widely used in small watershed comprehensive management. Zhenba County is situated in the southeast of Hanzhong city in Shaanxi Province, which is the typical mountainous area in south Shaanxi, stone dike terraces had made significant contribution to the small watershed comprehensive management. But some bank of stone dike terraces were destroyed by flood, which diminished the revenue of farmers,deduced the effect of small watershed comprehensive management.With the use of GIS and linear programming, the slope, rainfall and water requirement of crops in Zhenba County were analyzed, and existing water and soil of the slope and population resources in this area were studied. Then,discussed the causation on destroyed bank of stone dike terraces. The conclusion was arrived at as follows: The slope runoff resources were adequate in relation to sloping field resources in the arrangement of terrace resources in Zhenba County. Therefore, drainage was one of the major problems in the construction of stone dike terraces in Zhenba County.
