Abstract :
In support of the NASA High-Alpha Technology Program (HATP), the Pilot-Vehicle Interface Group, Cockpit Technology Branch, Flight Management Division at Langley Research Center is researching display concepts to be flight tested in the F-18 High-Alpha Research Vehicle (HARV). The development of an energy management display concept and some background information on energy management in air combat is presented. Results from a piloted simulation experiment, in which pilots tasked with an air combat engagement viewed two variations of an energy management display concept presented in the Langley helmet-mounted display, are also presented
