Abstract :
A correlation based content aware search strategy that can reduce the computation complexity of motion estimation in H.264/AVC while maintaining almost same coding efficiency has been proposed. The degree of correlation determined by spatial neighboring blocks define motion content and help to select initial motion vector predictors. The motion information stored in the predicted motion vector helps to choose between different search strategies for different video contents to get more efficient matches.
