Abstract :
This paper describes very recent developments towards establishing documented standards and recommended practices for computational electromagnetics (CEM) computer modeling and numerical code validation. The IEEE P1597 Working Group under the sponsorship of the EMC Society Standards Development Committee is currently performing this research. The standards and recommended practices address a variety of EMI/C issues pertaining to printed circuit board radiated and conducted emissions/immunity, system-level EMC, as well as the scattering cross section of complex structures and various other classes of electromagnetic problems. This effort is to develop well-defined methodologies for achieving code-to-code and simulation-to-measurement validations within a consistent level of accuracy.
