Abstract :
Silicon-based optical components are now mature technologies; and they can be used in the time-and-wavelength-division-multiplexed passive-optical-network (TWDM-PON) optical networking unit (ONU) to increase the level of integration for cost reduction. We will also discuss the further migration form the NG-PON2 to the future pure WDM-PON.
