Abstract :
The water environment is easily impacted by the highway construction during the construction and operation period. From water environmental prevention and control perspective, this paper analyses various water environmental risks through numerous investigations in the natural environment along highways, Combined with the specific situation of highway construction. Based on the analysis, this paper indicates the factors that destroy the water environment along highways. The main factors are the construction wastewater, pavement surface runoff, and sewage of highway ancillary facilities, rain sewage containing oil in service center and water environmental pollution accidents. To minimize the water environmental pollution, this paper puts forward appropriate control methods and management measures, such as setting sewage treatment equipments and environmental accident warning systems. Finally, this paper introduces the application of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology in highway water environment monitoring system which will have greater development in water environmental examination aspect.
