Abstract :
The Loess Plateau is the cradle of Chinese civilization. Now she is suffering the problem of the serious water and soil loss which caused by the long-term interaction of mankind and nature. This paper indicates that the problem of the Loess Plateau´s Eco-environment is caused by the increasing population. The coverage of the vegetation declined from 53 percent in Zou dynasty to 4 percent in 2000. At the meanwhile, the population increased sharply and it was over 100 millions in 2000. With the pressure of the lasting increasing population of the Loess Plateau, the forest was destroyed and the weather became drier and drier. Although we knew that the restoration the vegetation was the key and efficient way to build a harmonious environment of the Loess Plateau, it was a very difficult task because of the pressures of the large population and shortage of water resource. This paper points out that the vegetation´s restoration should be carried out by using family planning and relocated people to reduce the population of the Loess Plateau, using blue water, green water and virtual water to solve the shortage of water resource and using proper way to plant plants in proper zone.
