Abstract :
In this paper, design of a QPSK Modulator Direct at Carrier in Ku Band for on board satellite applications is presented. Since, power issue is crucial in space therefore a passive topology is implemented with low insertion loss. Besides, other parameters like Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), phase and magnitude imbalances, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and carrier suppression are also improved to a greater extent. An ultra high carrier suppression of almost 40dB, SNR greater than 50 and EVM less than 3 % has been achieved at a data rate of 3.2Mbps.
