  • Abstract
    Presents how the expert human controller differs from a fuzzy controller. The definition of ecological experts is to investigate into the relations between what cues in the task environment the human expert is actually utilizing in judgments and how those cues are valid for the task (i.e., cue validity and ecological validity). We introduce a Brunswik´s lens model for analyzing the interactions between the human expert controller and the control task environment. The task is to steer a large ship having complex dynamics to let it pass through a number of gates, whose simulator is constructed on a PC. We gather a collection of interaction data from a particular operator, whose skill levels are initially very poor but later gradually improve as he experiences trials
