Abstract :
A micro-controller based electronic platform is developed for six-minute walk test (SMWT) in clinical settings. This platform contains a WiFi module for wireless data communication, a radio frequency identification (RFID) component for patient identification, and a micro-controller unit (MCU) for data acquisition and process control. Due to the use of advanced microelectronic technology, the new platform is featured with high convenience, low power consumption and high performance. Our experimental results indicate that this platform can perform SMWT accurately and efficiently, providing a useful tool to conduct pulmonary function test for patients with respiratory or heart conditions.
