Abstract
In the USA, the FCC requires radiated emission measurements up to the 5th harmonic of the highest frequency generated in an unintentional radiator (e.g. personal computers) operating over 1 GHz. Intentional radiators (i.e. transmitters) operating below 10 GHz require measurements to the 10th harmonic or 40 GHz whichever is lower. In this paper we discuss hardware and software considerations when performing accurate and efficient radiated emission measurements in the 1 to 40 GHz frequency range.
