Abstract :
Special load shedding scheme (SLSS) was designed and implemented in 2003 to alleviate power deficient condition in Kuching system resulted from double circuit tripping of major transmission link to the generation source in Bintulu. This scheme was designed to work in tandem with the conventional UFLS to mitigate double circuit tripping contingency more effectively to maintain the integrity of Kuching system. The paper describes the concept of the scheme that formed the foundation for the design, simulation and implementation of the scheme in SESCo power system. Actual disturbance recordings will be discussed and verified with the simulation results.
