Abstract :
We present a genetic algorithm for fuzzy clustering. The initialization procedure and the genetic operators (such as selection, crossover and mutation) are carefully created, and the efficiency of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by two numerical examples: one is the butterfly and the other is the manufacturing cell formation problem. The genetic algorithm for fuzzy clustering is coded in Turbo C and the computer used is an NEC PC-9801
