Abstract
Induction machines are modelled using both 2D and 3D finite elements. The A-ψ method is used in 3D. Skewed rotor slots are modelled in 2D by dividing the machine into short axial sections, each of which is rotated by a small amount to simulate rotor skew. A small three phase cage induction motor is modelled as an example
