Abstract
The protocol of the distributed queue dual bus (DQDB) may not work as a perfect scheduler and, as a result, may cause such problems as unfairness and bandwidth wastage. A dynamic bandwidth balancing mechanism to solve these problems is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism may offer better performance than the bandwidth balancing and the symmetric bandwidth balancing mechanisms in terms of fairness, delay, and utilization
