Abstract :
The IEEE 802.11n standard defines frame aggregation to enhance the efficiency of the legacy 802.11 MAC layer. However the new standard does not define any feedback policy for the multicast transport which remains unreliable. In this paper we present a hybrid architecture where the Long Term Evolution (LTE) network is used to enhance the reliability of the 802.11n multicast transport and the reactivity of the MAC layer for retransmitting missed MPDUs. In this architecture, the eNodeB is used to forward feedbacks to the multicast sender.
