Abstract :
We consider an integrated sensor and vehicular network scenario, where the data from sensor nodes is delivered to the sink using a vehicular network. An optimal buffer management strategy for a roadside relay node (RRN), responsible for forwarding information from sensor nodes to the vehicular nodes, is proposed. In particular, we employ a constrained semi-Markov decision process to model buffer management at RRN, which provides an optimal stochastic policy to achieve fair buffer allocation to store data from different sensor nodes. Preliminary performance results show usefulness of proposed strategy.
