Abstract :
Enhanced vision, a system which includes sensors capable of supporting the means for safe operation in a low-visibility (fog) environment, is discussed. EVS (enhanced vision system) candidate sensors are described. A modularly architected sensor system with a new X-band weather radar as its principle sensor is proposed as a cost-effective means of achieving ESAS (enhanced situation awareness system) (including EVS) functional capability
