Abstract
The design of magnetic components for static convertors operating at high frequency necessitates precise evaluation of the losses. Conductor losses are especially complex because of induced current phenomena such as skin effect and proximity effect. A precise analytical model of these phenomena is presented for round conductors. A method is deduced for calculating the ratio of the AC and DC resistances of the windings, which can be used in the design. The results are validated by experimental measurements
