Abstract :
According to the canal operation in winter, reasonable and feasible hydraulic transition mode must be put forward to avoid threats of the ice jam. The paper chooses canal pools part of South-to-North Water Transfer Project as the research project, and simulates the operation course with a mathematic model built for the canal system. The paper provides a classic procedure to calculate the reference value of quota to every outlet which can encourage a juxtaposition ice cover of canal system in winter, as well as an optimized operation method of canal check gates which ensure the structure safety within the regulating process.
