Abstract
We propose a novel approach to detect nonlinear frequency-modulated (FM) components such as sinusoidal and hyperbolic FM components in multicomponent, nonstationary signals in the time-frequency (TF) plane. The approach, based upon the use of an array of accumulators, can be used to detect nonlinear FM components with varying energy in low signal-to-noise ratio environments
