Abstract :
In the paper, a slice size control scheme is studied to overcome for the loss of information when transferring MPEG video sequences through ATM networks. This scheme assigns different slice sizes to the video stream based on the order and various types of frames in a group of pictures, without increasing the number of ATM cells needed to transport MPEG video sequences. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme
