Abstract :
We demonstrate experimentally the optical burst add-drop multiplexing (OB-ADM) functions for WDM ring network applications. Burst identifiers control add/drop of 10- to 100-musec optical data bursts. Optical burst amplification and transmission at 9.953 Gbit/s rate are demonstrated. The OB-ADM ring network provides sub-wavelength granularity to WDM ring network.
