Abstract :
Non-destructive space charge measurement techniques have been used to investigate space charge behavior in insulating materials. Direct multi-dimensional space charge measurement systems are also required to observe for the localized space charge distribution in applications of the insulating material. Some multi-dimensional space charge measurement systems have been developed in the pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) and pressure wave propagation (PWP) method, however, it is difficult to measure space charge distribution in real time in these systems. Since the space charge behaviour is generally in transient, the high repetition two-dimensional (2D) space charge measurement system in the lateral and thickness direction for transient space charge has been developed using multiple acoustic sensors in the PEA method. This paper described performances of the high repetition rate 2D space charge measurement system.
