Abstract
This paper is intended to provide an insight into the theoretical and implementation details of a speech based Dialog query system over Asterisk PBX server. Asterisk PBX server can be connected to traditional analogue telephones or PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) trunk lines by fitting with special hardware PCI cards and to the VOIP telephony by using various VOIP protocols like SIP, IAX and H.323. This query system is designed for Railway Enquiry in Indian (Hindi) as well as English language. This paper describes how a query system can be deployed over Asterisk server for both analogue telephones and softphones as client interfaces and the recognition accuracy results are analyzed.
