Abstract :
In this work, a theoretical and experimental spectral analysis of the photocurrent of an avalanche photodiode working in the Geiger mode is realized. Passive and gated quenching are considered. In particular, it is shown that the probability of an avalanche to be fired can be measured using the spectrum analyzer.
