Abstract :
We report the development of an experimental platform designed to measure the transfer matrix for indoor and outdoor multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channels. The key aspects of the hardware system are presented, including a discussion of measurement issues and data processing approaches. Representative data obtained with the instrument in several indoor environments we presented. These results reveal the large increase in capacity that can be achieved using MIMO architectures coupled with space-time coding implementations.
