Abstract :
A novel method for simple and multi-functional all-optical logic gate using the absorption modulation of injection-locked FP-LD is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for ´OR/NOR´ and ´AND/NAND´ logic functions at 1 Gbit/s. The proposed logic gate is advantageous in that it uses low-cost commercialized FP-LD and can give logically either normal or inverted output by simply tuning the wavelength of the probe beam.
