Abstract :
Three-dimensional network structure of water-absorbent bentonite material have obtained via aggregating processes using Cole alkali bentonite as the core raw material and acrylic acid salt as grafting material. The effects of pH value, temperature, humidity and other on the material properties have been inspected. The experimental results indicates that the water absorbency is 610/450 (distilled water/water). The circulation frequency of bibulous and drainage water up to more than 60 times, and in the frozen melting circulation more than 30 times. If kept the pH from 6.5 to 7.5 unchanging, with adding 0.8% of bentonite water retaining agent into sand, the moisture can still maintain 20% after 60 days drying under nature conditions. Therefore, it can be inferred that the product can be applied to the desert slope and plant protection. Also, the obtained material can play an important role in wind-breaking and sand-fixing, roads protection and landscaping.
