Abstract
The heavy metal contamination in soil had attracted a rise concern for numerous scientists. Samples from Tongguan goldfield were collected to measure and analyze the Cd content. The result showed areal distribution of Cd in soil was getting more and more imbalance. In the latest 21 years, the average content increased 10.19 times. The mean cumulative index of 2010 is 1.79 times as that of 2009, 8.30 times as that of 2004. There was a sharp increase since 2004. The over-standard rate reached to 100% in 2009. The temporal variation of Cd cumulative effect was remarkable. The study indicated that disorder discharge of 3 wastes was the important source of Cd in soil, while irrigation with contaminated water aggravated the cumulative effect of Cd in soil.
