Abstract :
In order to obtain experimental parameters of gas breakdown under repetitive nanosecond-pulses, acquisition of real-time signals associated with incident voltage, discharge current, repetitively stressing time, envelope waveforms and light emission is described. The electrical signals and luminous phenomenon during the repetition rate experiments are also analyzed. Relations between repetitively stressing time, number of applied pulses to breakdown, luminous intensity and repetition rates are presented. The discharge under high rep-rate is due to the initiation of a large number of electrons. Excitated particles and residual charges under high repetitive nanosecond-pulses would provide a large number of initiatory electrons and affect the development of gas breakdown.
