  • Abstract
    In this work we present, and test by simulations, an all-optical demultiplexing technique for quaternary amplitude-shift keying signals that employs fiber-based four wave mixing optical gates. Results suggest this technique may be suitable to be applied in metropolitan area networks that transmit quaternary amplitude optical packets allowing for all-optical operations as label reading and label swapping in a network node.
