  • Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a new implantable electronic device dedicated for neural stimulation and monitoring. In addition to neuro-stimulation, this device includes impedance telemetry capabilities. The architecture of the proposed device is presented with a focus on its impedance measurement and telemetry. Assuming an equivalent parallel RC network for the electrodes-tissues contact impedance, resistance and capacitance can be measured with less than 5% and 15% errors respectively. Data is sent wirelessly to an external controller at 1 kbps data transmission rate.
