Abstract
This paper presents design aspects of two-phase switched reluctance motors for fan-applications. It is being pointed out that there is a trade-off between reduced costs of machine, converter and control. Reduced costs for the converter or control will most likely result in an oversized motor. As a consequence, the overall system cost have to be optimized.
