Abstract
We consider the design of a dual-polarization reflectarray, which uses aperture-coupled microstrip patches as its constituting elements. The choice of these antenna elements creates a potential advantage of increasing the operational bandwidth while avoiding the use of large characteristic impedance phasing stubs required in the edge-feed patch design. Also this choice is advantageous to accomplish beam steering, as the phase control elements can be located on the nonradiating side of the reflectarray.
