  • Abstract
    A new monolithic integration of EAM and SOA, chain-integration, is proposed and demonstrated. As compared with conventional EAM/SOA, chain-integration offer higher speed with lower noise. Speed of >40 GHz, optical link gain of 12 dB and 2 dB sensitivity improvement of 10 Gb/s transmission is found in such device.
