Abstract
Worldwide the electric systems are changing their organization from a vertically integrated to a liberalized structure. In particular, in the new environment, a lot of new "actors" are in competition to each other: this situation requires a set of rules to manage in an efficient way the electric system together with the electric market. As a consequence for this new structure a proficient management of the generation and transmission infrastructures is required. The paper focuses its attention on the development of the transmission system and on its coordination with the new generation plants: a Monte Carlo based tool is used to provide clear information about the capability of the EHV network (managed with a nodal approach) to accept new production.
