Abstract
In this paper we propose the application of fuzzy logic in the Direct Torque Control (DTC) of an induction motor in order to overcome the conventional DTC limitations. The performance of the proposed controller is evaluated through digital simulation and developed to be implemented on FPGA chip using Matlab/Simulink package and the toolbox Xilinx System Generator (XSG). The fuzzy controller is shown to be able to reduce the torque, stator flux and current ripples by simulative results.
