Abstract :
This paper presents the approach and performance investigations of a radio resource scheduling algorithm for IP based traffic types in the third generation wideband CDMA system. Introducing system requirements and traffic modeling, a scheduling algorithm for a typical data traffic type, i.e., the HTTP traffic type is carried out. Regarding nonreal-time services, user quality of service can be measured by bit error rate and data throughput, whereas, the data throughput, especially the comparison between scheduled volume of traffic and the expected one is of great interest to evaluate the performance of the scheduler and system capability. The aim of this paper is to give an investigation of system capability without considering the erroneous transmission aspect; therefore, the upper bound of the rate of information throughput is given.
