Abstract
Magic Cap is built around a dynamic object-oriented runtime. This model yields system-wide benefits. Magic Cap leverages the runtime to provide many powerful communications features. Magic Cap is new system software, designed to run on personal intelligent communicators such as those soon available from Motorola, Sony, Matsushita, and Philips. Macintosh and Windows versions of Magic Cap will soon be available too. As a platform for communications Magic Cap stresses two features: extensibility at every level of the system, and deep support for communications.<>
