Abstract :
In April of 1976, the Urban Mass Transportation Administration announced the initiation of a Downtown People Mover (DPM) demonstration program to show the benefits of simple, fully automated transit systems - or people movers. This paper defines the existing people mover technology´s which may be used to satisfy program requirements.
